Workshops for determining the human uses and values of Townsville's waterways and marine areas

Black / Ross Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP)

Workshops were held recently (see below) to identify draft human use and aquatic ecosystem ecological values of Townsville's waterways and marine areas.

  • Magnetic Island Workshop - Tuesday 22 July 2008 (Arcadia)

  • Rural Areas Workshop - Wednesday 23 July 2008 (Bluewater)

  • Urban and Rural Residential Workshop - Thursday 24 July 2008 (Annandale)

These workshops are a key step in the development of the Water Quality Improvement Plan (WQIP) for the Black and Ross River Basins and Magnetic Island, which is currently being prepared by Townsville City Council through its Creek to Coral program.

The human use values results from these workshops can be found in the attached documents along with an explanation of the workshop process.

Comments are welcome by Friday 17th October 2008 for incorporation into the draft human use values of our waterways.

A feedback form is provided below and your comments should be sent to either creektocoral@townsville.qld.gov.au or Attention: Chris Manning, Townsville City Council, PO Box 1268 Townsville QLD 4810

Thank you in anticipation of your feedback.
