Theme 1: Community-Based Education & Involvement (CBEI)
One of the objectives of Creek to Coral is to inform, educate, involve and engender community based stewardship, awareness and ownership of Catchment issues through Eco-Catchment Education Tours, NQ Wetlands Festival, EcoFiesta, School Programs (Reef Guardian Schools, Sustainable Schools, Reef Beat etc.) Visit the Youth Environment Network (YEN) website and learn about water conservation and other exciting community events!

Creek to Coral actively supports the community stewardship of Total Water Cycle Management through on-ground programs and through the involvement of community groups such as Seagrass Watch, Creekwatch, Coastcare, Reef Check or Conservation Volunteers Australia.
It utilizes tools and techniques associated with Community Based Social Marketing (CBSM)
Creek to Coral organises quarterly community events, focusing on various initiatives or concerns such as plastic pollution in the marine environment, stormwater, Gross Pollutant Traps (GPTs), rubbish in waterways etc.
Creek to Coral networks with the Centre for Excellence in Tropical Design (CETD), a knowledge hub for specialists on tropical design, innovation, and sustainability.

Creek to Coral had developed strong partnerships with community groups involved in water monitoring and management. Community groups provide Creek to Coral with invaluable information, data and indicators of water quality from creek…to coral.
