Theme 4: Environmental Protection & Emergency Response
One part of Creek to Coral initiatives includes Environmental Protection & Emergency Response. This means that Creek to Coral ensures hazard identification and risk assessment connected with water quality (e.g. new development). These hazards are prioritized according to their importance, taking into account community expectations.
The main components of Environmental Protection and Emergency Response are:
- The development and implementation of annual compliance programs developed with consideration given to pro-active industry compliance inspections;
- Improvement of communication and procedures in dealing with Emergency Incidents such as oil spill (land and sea), algae bloom, fish kills, acid sulphate soil, sedimentation, high coliform concentration, illegal pool water discharge in stormwater, GPT dysfunction, sewerage spill, endangered species disturbance/killing etc.INCIDENT REPORTType of incidentDateActions
